Batmobile Cupra

If Seat made a Batmobile, it’d be a bit like this…

I avoided Instagram for years but when I started ModiFLY it became an essential tool for the brand. And as time has passed (8 months now) I have come to like it more and more. I like to sit there and just scroll through my feed and see whats what. There’s rad cars, rad car parts, car parts for sale, rad mod’s, a few too many selfies and holiday pics but thats to be expected, then more rad cars, rad stickers, just general rad stuff, anyway you get the picture. So I was scrolling the other day and I saw a something which sparked my interest, and it was on a car that I’d been a fan of anyway so I gave Daryl a shout to see if I could feature it, which as you can tell he agreed to.

So this is the pic that got me, which is odd cause I’m not a fan of the whole superhero thing, don’t get me wrong I like most the films etc, I’m just not into it. But it was the work involved to do what he’s done that I was really taken by. When people put real time and effort into there mods, no matter how big or small theres something really cool about it. I guess things like this just scream personality, passion, and when it looks rad as well then thats ideal. So anyway to put Batman on your grill is pretty brave, its a lot to live up to, and I’m pretty sure that this Leon Cupra R 255 (which as car names go is pretty long) lives up to it.

Personally I think that the custom vented bonnet looks great in the carbon wrap and lives up to the Batman vibe, but Daryl said he was going to loose the wrap at some point and go back to black. As it stands at this moment in time, I think the carbon wrapped, vented bonnet, the big mouth converted bumper, and the angel eye headlights give this Cupra a imposing front end, obviously helped by being dropped on AP coilovers with power flex bushes all round and sitting on some big 18″ XXR all round (8.75 front and 9.75 at the back). Similar to our other featured Curpra R which also sits on XXRs but that’s because these wheels are so so nice, I’ve never not seen them suit a car, especially if your going for an aggressive look, then these are the wheels to go for, bigger the better. To help keep it stable he’s got a Neuspeed rear anti roll and drop links, to help it stop theres EBC grooved disks and EBC redstuff pads all round. So with all that suspension and stopping power you must be thinking race car? Well after a stage 1 remap (with a pervious remap 5 years ago) this Cupra is pushing out 265BHP 275 torque, thats not on a standard lump tho, its had some work too. I’ve never been an engine modder, Im getting there, but this is still a learning curve to me but it has a Forge recirculation valve, a Badger5 inlet pipe, Airtech front mount intercooler, PCV delete, N429 delete and from what I gather and a bit of research this is all to give it more, smoother, controllable boost, and thats what we all want. But it dosen’t stop there, all the boost pipes have been upgraded to Forge, the throttle body has been polished, theres a R Tech induction kit and a full Miltek system with a 3″ downpipe, a de-cat and resinated cat back. This all ensures you get good air in and good air out, and that the important stuff right there. Final touches under the hood just to keep it all looking nice he’s painted the rocker cover inlet and charge pipe a nice shade of black.

So add some wind deflectors, tint some windows and thats your exterior and bay sorted, now for the interior…

Any and all race cars have gotta have Recaro’s (or at least in my opinion and Daryls by the looks of things) so we have some Cupra R Recaro’s in there and a bunch of gauges to go along with them. Theres a race diagnostic one, a boost one and a oil pressure gauge in there too. All that boost must make some noise so if you choose to drown it out then you have the option of listening to some tunes on his Alphine head unit through some nice JL Audio door speaker and sub, powered by a hifonics brutus elite 2500 rms amp. So I think that covers everything, I’m loving this, I think it looks great and I bet it goes some too, the icing on the cake tho is that this isn’t just a toy, its a daily driver and used 365 days a year, which is how it should be.
